The cabinet is 24 In. Width by 42 In.Tall and 14 In. Depth including front Door Panel with Three Removable Shelves and bottom stationary Shelf making Four Full Depth Shelves of Storage Space. All Sunstone Wall Cabinets are easily installed with simple Horizontal Wall Support Slates which interlock into each other keeping a perfect Horizontal Line every time. In addition all Full Height Cabinets have extra Support Rails at base which Cup under the base of each cabinet, securely tightening them in place against the wall.The Cabinet comes completely setup, only fasten on the Door Handle, and Snap on the Crown Molding.

(I understand from the manual that the cut out is is 22", and that I need to leave at least 4" behind the back of the grill and the wall, but what I don't understand is how far the back of the grill extends behind the cut out. Because I don't know how far the back of the grill extends behind the cut out, I can't calculate the counter depth I need to leave 4" between the back of the grill and the wall.)

Hi - Measuring from the back of the grills FireBox it is 3-5/8" to the back edge of grill, and from the cut-out line its between 2-3 inches. The hood extends an additional 3" when Open, so is why you need a minimum 4" clearance. All this is illustrated on the grills Specification Sheet, you can download in the section box Downloads.
