What is the minimum counter depth to install Ruby 4 Burner Pro-Sear 36″ with a wall behind the grill?
(I understand from the manual that the cut out is is 22", and that I need to leave at least 4" behind the back of the grill and the wall, but what I don't understand is how far the back of the grill extends behind the cut out. Because I don't know how far the back of the grill extends behind the cut out, I can't calculate the counter depth I need to leave 4" between the back of the grill and the wall.)

Hi - Measuring from the back of the grills FireBox it is 3-5/8" to the back edge of grill, and from the cut-out line its between 2-3 inches. The hood extends an additional 3" when Open, so is why you need a minimum 4" clearance. All this is illustrated on the grills Specification Sheet, you can download in the section box Downloads. I have been searching for a good outside grill and I am very happy with the quality as well as the functionality. It has all the features I was looking for, very high temperature, a pro sear burner, the flame tamers do work well. The LED lights are added features great for cooking at night.I had to call for questions about the rotisserie and the staff at Sunstone was very helpful and professional.I have been grilling for 2 months and I highly recommend this grill.

I have had this grill for 8 months now and really like it. I actually picked this unit because the dimensions where exactly the same as the one I replaced. It heats fast compared to my older unit. Looks great and performs great. I use it at least twice a week. I like medium rare filets and I crank up the heat to 600 degrees, 2 1/2 minutes one side, 2 minutes the other, melts in your mouth perfect! my old unit would only get to 500 degrees so it took longer and did not sear as well, so very happy with this unit. I only use 3 burners for salmon. I highly recommend this grill.

While a bit expensive this is worth it. Connected to your natural gas supply with a medium pressure line this grill gets very hot very fast. The left hand part of the grill is designed for searing and does that very quickly. The center and right sides are for normal cooking though if you are used to propane grills I suggest you keep and eye on your food until you become familiar with how hot this grill gets. I have been doing bacon in a pan and badly burnt a batch because of over estimating how long it would take. The one suggestion we have is to place a dot of red finger nail polish on the dot indicating the knobs are in the off position as that is hard to tell from a distance. The nail polish makes it very easy to see that the knobs are in the off position. This is a very solid heavy grill, including the lid. We fully recommend this grill.
