Description
The StarBBQ 48" Smokeless Fire Pit Insert (STARBBQ-48SFPR) is sized for large outdoor spaces. It gives hotter, clearer flames with little visible smoke, and its raised base lets primary airflow reach the fire for better combustion.
It measures 55-1/2" diameter x 11-1/4" H, needs a 50" diameter x 13" H cut-out and weighs about 65 lbs. The insert is cold-rolled steel with a high-temperature powder-coat finish. It drops into standard stacked-stone fire pits or retaining wall blocks, and the 4-piece flat pack assembles in under 10 minutes without special tools.
It burns charcoal or wood, and you can add Post-Mount Swivel Grillers later if you want to cook over the fire. See our warranty page for coverage.

Shipping & returns
Shipping & Delivery
All orders ship free to the 48 contiguous United States.
Larger (freight) shipments are curb-side only. A signature and possibly assistance may be required for unloading. We will work with you to arrange a delivery date and time, but the final details will be between you and the freight carrier.
IMPORTANT: ALL LTL DELIVERIES ARE CURBSIDE UNLESS WHITE GLOVE FEES ARE PAID. All reports of damage must be made within 3 business days after delivery.
Receiving Your Shipment
When the shipment arrives, please do the following:
- Inspect every box carefully before signing. There is no such thing as damage that is too small: dents, tears, crushed corners, punctures, or scuffs should all be noted.
- Take clear photos of any box that shows damage.
- On the delivery receipt, write down exactly how many boxes have visible damage. If it is electronic, have the driver show you where to notate the damage. Before handing it back, take a photo of the document showing your notation.
After the driver leaves, please immediately open and inspect the items themselves. If you find any damage, contact us with the following:
- A photo of the item unboxed with the damage visible
- A close-up photo of the actual damage
- A photo of the delivery document where you noted the box damage
These steps ensure we can file a claim quickly and get any replacement parts or items to you without delay.
Returns & Exchanges
Returns are accepted within 60 days of original purchase, in original packaging and unused, for a full refund minus a 15% Restocking Fee.
We recommend insuring products when shipping back to us. Returns will be rejected if the product is received damaged.

Huge improvement for our backyard. We used to get smoked out every time we had a fire and now we can just sit and enjoy it. The big size is great when we have people over and it feels really solid.
It really is smokeless, which is great. Fits our custom fire pit well, but getting it perfectly level took more fiddling than I expected. Once it's in, the clean burn is worth the effort.
Seriously impressed with this 48 inch insert. We have people over a lot and not dodging smoke all night is a big deal. Puts out good heat and the flame looks nice and even.
Does exactly what it says, the fire pit is way cleaner now. Feels heavy duty and well made. Only hesitation was the price, but for how well it works I think it was worth it.
Finally got this installed and what a difference. No more moving chairs around to get out of the smoke, just a nice warm fire. It's the centerpiece of the patio now and everyone loves it.
