## Description

The StarBBQ Diamond Grid Grilling Grate Insert (STARBBQ-EXGRATE) is a campfire grill grate for steaks, burgers and vegetables over charcoal or wood. The expanded metal diamond grid lets air and heat through evenly, leaves classic grill marks and picks up the wood-fired flavor.

It is powder-coated cold-rolled steel and weighs 6 lbs. Two bar handles let you lift and rotate the grate, or carry it straight from the fire to the table.

It fits StarBBQ 24" bases: the STARBBQ-24CHBS Charcoal Grill Base, the STARBBQ-24FPBS Smokeless Fire Pit Base and the STARBBQ-24BSRIM BBQ Base Rim. It is also light enough to take camping or to a picnic and use by itself over a campfire or fire pit.

**Q: Does this grate come with a warranty?**

**Q: How do I clean this grate? Can it go in the dishwasher?**

Keep it out of the dishwasher, it can strip the seasoning and cause rust. Scrape off food with a grill brush while it's still warm. Then wash it by hand with hot water and a stiff brush (skip the soap if you can to protect the seasoning), dry it well and rub on a thin coat of cooking oil before you put it away.

**Q: What's this grate made of? I'm worried about rust with a lot of use.**

It's heavy duty cast iron, which holds heat really well. With proper care it handles high heat and frequent use for many years. Over time cast iron builds up a seasoning that helps keep rust away and makes it more non stick.

**Q: Will this grate fit inside my older Weber kettle?**

It's really made as a standalone campfire grate, and it's great for that. Whether it fits a Weber kettle depends on the kettle's diameter, so measure the inside of yours and compare it to the grate's dimensions to see if it'll sit stable.

**Q: How do I set up this grate? Do I need tools?**

Just set it over your campfire or fire pit and make sure it's stable on a heat resistant surface. The handles make it easy to position and move, and you don't need any tools to set it up or take it off.
