## Description

The StarBBQ 48" Smokeless Fire Pit Insert Dual Grill Package (STARBBQ-48SFPR-PKG) is a large fire pit insert that burns with hotter flames and almost no visible smoke. It comes with a short post and a tall post swivel griller, so you get two cooking heights.

The insert is 55-1/2" diameter x 11-1/4" H, fits a 48" fire pit with a 50" diameter x 13" H cut-out and weighs about 75 lbs. It is cold-rolled steel with a high-temperature powder coating and fits standard retaining wall blocks for DIY stacked-stone fire pits.

A raised base moves air under the fire for better combustion when you burn dry, seasoned hardwood. It also takes charcoal. See our [warranty page](https://sunstonemp.com/warranty) for coverage.

## Questions & answers

**Q: What warranty or support comes with this fire pit package?**

Coverage details are on our warranty page. If you have questions about installing, using or maintaining it, contact us with your order number and we'll help.

**Q: How bad is the cleanup after a night of grilling and fires?**

It's not bad. The ash pan comes out easily so you can dump the ashes, and the stainless wipes down with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Brush the grill grates after each use so food doesn't build up. Keeping it clean also helps the smokeless design work the way it should.

**Q: How well do the grates and insert hold up? We get harsh winters and hot, humid summers.**

The insert is high grade stainless steel, chosen because it resists corrosion and high heat, so it does well in changing climates. The grill grates are heavy duty stainless too. For the longest life, use a cover in extreme weather and clean it regularly so buildup doesn't wear it down.

**Q: What fuel does this fire pit use? Can it run on natural gas or propane?**

It's a wood burning insert, built around the smokeless design. It doesn't come with natural gas or propane hookups. Some customers have added aftermarket gas log sets or burners, but that's not a standard setup, so have a certified gas technician handle it if you go that way.

**Q: How hard is it to put this package into my existing stone fire pit? Do I need a pro?**

If your stone fire pit already has the right size opening, it's fairly straightforward and you'll mostly need basic hand tools. It can be a DIY job if you're comfortable with light construction. If the opening isn't sized right or you'd just rather have a pro do it, a landscape contractor or handyman who knows outdoor kitchens is a good call.
