The StarBBQ 24" Charcoal Grill Base (STARBBQ-24CHBS-PMR-EXG-CRT) from Sunstone Metal Products is an open-fire charcoal and wood cooker with a post-mount griller rim that adds cooking space around a 24" grilling surface.

The body is powder-coated cold-rolled steel with 304 stainless steel accents, and the finish resists rust. The post-mount rim mounts on decks, patios or ground posts, and its dual round racks give you more room to cook with good heat circulation.

A Diamond Grid ExGrate insert spreads heat and leaves solid sear marks. The pieces are modular, so the grill fits a backyard setup and also goes along for tailgating and camping. It weighs approx. 75 lbs.

**Q: Is it a pain to clean the base and grate after a messy cookout?**

Not at all. For the ExGrate, burn off the residue, brush it with a stiff wire brush and wipe it with a damp cloth. Sweep out the charcoal base once it cools. For a deeper clean, use mild detergent and water with a non-abrasive sponge. Skip harsh chemicals.

**Q: What are the base and grate made of? Will they hold up to bad weather and lots of use?**

The base is heavy-duty commercial-grade stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion even in rough weather. The ExGrate is stainless too and easy to clean. Take care of it and it'll last for years.

**Q: Can I use other grates on this, or am I stuck with the ExGrate?**

The ExGrate heats evenly and is really versatile, but the base works with others too. Many standard 24-inch round grates should fit. For the best fit, though, we recommend STAR BBQ accessories made for this model.
