## Description

The Signature Series 17" x 24" Beveled Frame Left Swing Horizontal Vented Door (BA-VDHL1724) closes off a horizontal opening in your island, and louvers along the bottom let air move through. That airflow matters anywhere a propane tank or gas lines are stored.

The door measures 27" W x 20" H x 3" D and fits a 25" W x 18" H cut-out. It has a 16 gauge 304 stainless steel frame and an 18 gauge 304 stainless steel door panel in a No. 4 light brushed finish, and the beveled frame matches the rest of the Signature Series components. It ships with the Signature Series Beveled Handle, which is zinc alloy with chrome plating.

This is the left swing version. Vented doors are not reversible, so if you need it to open the other way, order the right swing door, item BA-VDHR1724. The door opens 120 degrees and hangs on built-in hinge pins, so no hinges show on the face. It fits a typical 4" island frame, and the depth from the face to the frame mounting hole is 1-3/4". See our [warranty page](https://sunstonemp.com/warranty) for coverage.

## Questions & answers

**Q: What's the warranty on this door, and what do I do if there's a problem after I install it?**

Coverage details are on our warranty page. If you have an issue after installing it, contact us with your proof of purchase and we'll walk you through troubleshooting or a warranty claim.

**Q: How do I keep this door clean with fingerprints and outdoor grime?**

For regular cleaning, use a soft cloth with warm water and mild dish soap. For fingerprints or stubborn grime, use a stainless steel cleaner and polish, always wiping with the grain. Don't use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

**Q: What's this door made of? How does it hold up to rain and direct sun?**

It's quality, corrosion-resistant stainless steel, so it holds up well outdoors. It's built to take direct sun, heavy rain and temperature swings without rusting or warping. A cleaning now and then and a wipe after heavy rain keeps it looking good.

**Q: I'm building an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill. Are these vents enough to keep heat from building up in the cabinet?**

The horizontal vents let air flow through passively, which is important for safety and for keeping heat down, especially with gas parts. For a propane tank or general storage, they should be enough. If you're housing high-heat appliances or several gas lines, check your local building codes and think about extra ventilation like louvered panels or powered vents.

**Q: Can I install this door myself or should I hire a pro?**

With basic DIY skills it's usually straightforward. It comes with mounting hardware and usually needs an accurately cut opening in your island so it sits flush. Measure carefully before you start, and if you're unsure, a pro can get you a perfect, sealed install.
